Getting started

Choose a serve time, add the foods you want to cook, and review the schedule. Adjust the estimated cooking times for your recipe and equipment. Follow the timeline for preheating, cooking, flipping, resting, and serving. Save your favorite combinations as meal templates.

Cooking reminders and alarms

Allow notifications when prompted. Check Settings → Notifications → SousChef if reminders are missing. SousChef also offers alarms for key cooking steps when supported and authorized. Check the app’s alert settings and your device’s notification, Focus, and sound settings. Always supervise cooking; reminders do not replace checking your food.

Apple Watch and widgets

Keep your iPhone and Apple Watch paired and their software and apps up to date. Open SousChef on both devices after creating or changing a meal. If information looks out of date, bring the devices back within range and reopen the apps. Widgets and complications depend on the latest meal information available to the device.

Purchases and restoring access

Optional catalog packs are sold through Apple’s App Store when available. To recover an existing purchase, use Restore Purchases on the catalog purchase screen while signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. For billing and refund requests, visit Apple’s purchase support.

Recipe imports

Share a recipe webpage from Safari to SousChef, then review the imported draft before adding it to your meal. Some websites restrict access or use formats that cannot be imported. Check ingredient quantities, steps, and cooking estimates against the original recipe.

Your data

Meal plans and settings are stored on your devices. Saved templates can sync through your iCloud account when available. Removing the app may remove local data; keep anything you need before deleting it.

Read the SousChef Privacy Policy.

Cooking safely

Cooking times are estimates. Use a suitable food thermometer, check doneness, and follow safe food-handling guidance and the instructions for your appliances.
